Before you get back to your studies, refocus on what is important and what you want to achieve. Ask yourself again, why am I studying? Sometimes, study just becomes habit and we lose focus. What do you want to achieve?

In English language learning, avoid the general answer “I want to be fluent”, or “I want to go to university in Canada”. These are great goals, but the have dozens of minor goals within them. Such goals can be, “I will focus on achieving 100% accuracy with my irregular verbs”. These minor goals are what you want to plan out before you get back in the classroom in the new year.

I’ve attached a sample PDF Learning Goals worksheet (Click Here). This file has some examples of minor learning goals. Delete the example and reuse the worksheet for your own goals.

Happy goal setting.
